What is Anemia

Anemia is a condition characterized by hemoglobin levels that are too low or the number of red blood cells in the blood is too little. Anemia is considered as a symptom of a disease. Anemia can be detected through blood tests.

There are 400 types of anemia, some of them very rare. Two common types of anemia is hemolytic anemia, where red blood cells are destroyed faster than normal, and sickle cell anemia, in which the body produces abnormal hemoglobin. Filat acid deficiency anemia occurs because the levels of folic acid in the body is lower than the levels should be.

Anemia makes resistance to disease becomes weak or limit energy and productivity. Anemia can also indicate a more serious medical condition.

  • Palpitations or heart rate noticeably faster and stronger
Additional symptoms of folic acid deficiency anemia:
  1. Pain in the mouth or Lisdah

What cause Anemia
Anemia occurs when the body lacks iron stores. Children and adults who consume foods in limited amounts, may not be getting enough iron in the food they eat. If partly gastric was appointed then the system the digestive do not capable of absorb substances iron in the number of which sufficient.

Excessive blood loss can also cause anemia in certain people, such as women with menstrual and many sufferers of gastric and duodenal ulcers, hemorrhoids or gastric or colon cancer.

What you can do
High consumption of green leafy vegetables in your diet to maintain a sufficient amount of folic acid. Many cereals that contain folic acid as a supplement. Foods fortified with iron can also help increase iron stores.

Avoid caffeinated drinks sat eating, such as coffee, tea or cola because it can interfere with iron absorption. If you are a woman with menstrual bleeding that much or if you are pregnant, consult with your doctor about taking iron supplements. If you have signs and symptoms of anemia, consult with your doctor.

Prevention Tips
  • Eat iron-rich foods, eg, fruits, whole wheat bread, beans, lean meats, vegetables and leafy vegetables greener
  • Wear sandals / shoes to avoid worm infestation.
  • Yeng Avoid excessive exposure to insecticides, gasoline products, toxic chemicals.
